Lice treatment is often necessary for those who suffer from head lice. People who are allergic to lice sometimes respond well to lice and treatment. Others don’t have such great luck. Head lice can be difficult to get rid of, especially if you’re trying to treat an infestation. They live in hair follicles and on the skin. Treatments can come in many forms and there are some people who swear by certain remedies while others swear that they’re a complete waste of time.

For mild cases of head lice, treatment with shampoos or lotions usually does the trick. Novokid lice treatment using shampoos or lotions usually involves washing your hair with a high heat (as much as possible) solution. Some solutions kill the eggs and require repeat applications over a number of days to ensure complete lice eradication. This treatment can be very harsh on sensitive skin, but many who try it find that it works well. It’s best to avoid using shampoos or lotions that contain harsh chemicals or petroleum-based ingredients. Lice like these tend to leave an oily residue and dandruff like texture, which makes them difficult to get rid of.

There are also herbal remedies that are claimed to be effective in treating head lice. However, it’s important to remember that herbal remedies rarely work all that well for everyone. It’s not uncommon for a remedy to take months or years to work. If you have any doubts at all about the effectiveness of a remedy, you should avoid using it, or better yet, consult your doctor before attempting to treat your head lice with an herbal remedy.

Other treatments include using prescribed medications like oils and creams. While these products may be successful in eliminating some cases of head lice, there is no way to guarantee their efficacy. You should only use treatments prescribed by your dermatologist. Dermatologists have the most sophisticated equipment and expertise in this field and know exactly which treatments will be most effective for each individual.

Lice Treatment through Prescription: There are a few medications available on the market that your dermatologist can prescribe to help in the treatment of head lice. These treatments, while more costly than over the counter remedies, are still relatively effective. They also tend to be more effective in the long run since they are more regulated and work more slowly than shampoos or lotions. Your dermatologist might also recommend that you use over the counter treatments that contain pesticides (such as nitrate shampoo and/or diatomaceous earth) to rid yourself of the pesky insects.

Lice Treatment through Essential Oils: Lavender oil, tea tree oil, Echinacea extract and mustard oil are among the many essential oils considered effective in the treatment of lice. Essential oils are non-toxic so they don’t cause any health problems and their application is safe, unlike over-the-counter insecticides. For instance, tea tree oil is used to prevent the spread of lice and echinacea is recommended for those who have colds. These essential oils may also be applied directly to the scalp and massaged into the hair where the lice are living.

Lice Treatment through Nits: Lice eggs are really tiny insects that hide and lay their eggs on the human’s head, legs and scalp. They can really get rid of your beautiful head of hair if they take hold of it. If you are dealing with a severe infestation, the best course of action is to treat the infestation right away. Lice nits can be really bothersome and you may find yourself having to shampoo your hair multiple times in order to get rid of them. Treating head lice with nits or shampoos may prove to be uncomfortable and time-consuming, but you need to get rid of them.

Lice Treatment through Nit Comb: Lice can be really bothersome and itchy, especially when they take hold of your hair. It’s important to note that the treatment described above is only a temporary remedy. You will still have to shampoo your hair as well as use a nit comb in order to eradicate these little bloodsuckers. The best course of action is to wash your hair with an anti-infestation shampoo (most of these are labeled for head lice) and then use a nit comb to pull the lice from your hair. This will leave your hair free of lice. To be sure, consult with an expert at the American academy of pediatrics.
