The most Common Misconceptions About Vaccines
Recently, in the media, many controversial attitudes about vaccines could be heard and read. In addition to reservations and suspicions of the new influenza vaccine, different opinions were also expressed about vaccines in general, and those that are considered mandatory for the youngest. It is therefore not a waste to recall which vaccines are recommended in our health care system and why the calendar of regular vaccinations of children and youth seems to be, and which are the most commonly misleading about the vaccines we encounter every day.

Side Effects
What many parents care about, especially when it comes to vaccinating very young children, are reactions and side effects. At the site of the vaccine (if given as injections), redness and the island often occur, and in some children, temperature, headache, nausea and diarrhea may occur. All these, however, are considered reactions within the limits of normal and it is generally sufficient to place the child on a cold coat at the site of the sting or to give some mild antipyretic.
The most common misconceptions about vaccines
1. It is better to get the infection than to get vaccinated
Infections are potentially deadly diseases. One who deliberately expose himself or his children to such a danger plays a unique Russian roulette. This also applies to the so-called boggy parties, which parents arrange for healthy children to come in contact with the sick and thus “brush up” this child’s disease.
2. Vaccines overwhelm the immune system
This opinion is expressed especially by the parents of babies who sometimes have several vaccines in a short period of time.
The fact is, however, that the immune system cannot be overloaded. Each syrup of lactobacilli enriched yogurt, in addition, brings more microbes into the body than an oral vaccine. Much of it even speaks of the fact that the early activation of the immune system with innocent calls, as contained in the vaccines, positively affects the body.
3. Vaccination damages the defenses of the organism
On the contrary! Thanks to immunization, immunoglobulins (a type of protein) are formed that are necessary for the body to fight the disease. But since in some cases this process only starts with one injection, revaccination is also needed.
4. Vaccines cause severe damage
Vaccines can really lead to side effects: for example, at the site of the stomach, redness, swelling and pain occur in about a quarter of the vaccine, and in some cases, headache or diarrhea. These, however, are the normal reactions of the organism that indicate the activation of the immune system, and not the real complications caused by vaccines that occur extremely rarely.
